One of the most famous Italian fighters of WWII, the Macchi MC-200 was a design that spanned the old and new eras of fighter construction. Although a monoplane with retracts, she had an open cockpit and a large radial engine with little regard for low drag.

The Black Horse version is a really convenient size. Not too big that she won't fit in a car and not too small to be jostled around in a breeze. The recommended engine size will not break the bank either!

The complex shape of the fuselage behind the cowl has been faithfully re-produced by the Black Horse complex, wood moulding techniques to make this Macchi a real scale aircraft. Add the beautiful, hand made GRP cowling with all the lumps and bumps of the original and you can see exactly how well the design follows the full size.

The entire construction is jig assembled using laser cut parts by skilled craftsman. No machine assembly here, just old fashioned skill and care in every model (aided by some crafty design features). Just look at the complex colour scheme and how well the pattern matches up at the joins. Could you do that? By ink printing on vinyl, the colourscheme is both accurate and practical. The vinyl has almost no reaction to standing in the sun, unlike many heat shrink films.

All metal air retracts are included as standard with functioning oleo struts.

That straight wing imparts a solid, forgiving feel in the air and the Macchi makes a good first scale model to get into flying 'tail draggers'. This is all helped by the wide track undercarriage and progressive control response.

Try something different, try the Macchi MC-200 from Black Horse.
